Opera Gala Concert in collaboration with Accademia Teatro alla Scala and George Solti Accademia.

Cairo Opera House together with EMMA for Peace will present an Opera Gala Concert featuring three acclaimed young singers: soprano Tereza Gevorgya (George Solti Accademia alumna), mezzo-soprano Lilly Jørstad, baritone Filippo Polinelli (Accademia Teatro alla Scala alumni) and Cairo Opera Orchestra, conducted by Nayer Nagui.

The concert will represent a unique opportunity of interaction between artists coming from Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

On this occasion, EMMA for Peace will present “Opera for Peace” an educational project with the aim of bringing opera music and its related professions to both conservatoire students and young people in the refugee camps of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine and Turkey.
Opera for Peace, which aims to encourage creativitydialogue and mutual understanding and to promote the ideals of peacesolidarity and respect for human rights, aims to offer the widest number of young people, including students and Middle East refugees, an opportunity for traininginspiration and growth.
An inclusivecooperative and non-discriminatory educational style will promote the learning of music and hands on acquisition of basic skills of the theatrical trades (carpentry, costume-making, set design), through the production and performance of a single opera.
